Ask your child lots of “what,” “where” and “why” questions Ask questions that require the child to give more than a “yes” or “no” answer ​

Set aside time every day to talk about the day's events and what tomorrow's plans are.

Have paper and writing tools at home for your child at home.
Show your child how to write their name and encourage them to trace or copy the letters.

Have your child retell what happens in the beginning, middle and end of a favorite story. Ask them to tell you what a book is about by looking at the pictures.

Play simple board games to practice listening, taking turns and following rules.

Encourage your child's curiosity by responding to their questions with clear understandable answers.
Use the correct words for objects.
